My dearest friends, it happened. This morning before we left our Minneapolis accommodation, I tested positive for Covid. As a result I am in isolation in Minneapolis while the team makes their way to Chicago, then on to Cincinnati.
It sucks.
But it is not insurmountable.
At this stage my symptoms are mild, cold-like. This means I am hopeful of joining up with the team on Sunday. Maybe not to play then, but to be present.
Like in 2018, I have not been able to play in our game against Chicago Machine. I’m gutted, mostly that I won’t get to catch up with my friend Walden, the player who made my time in Chicago worthwhile last time. He’s reached out and sent wishes for a speedy recovery, and I’ve sent an email saying it’s good to hear he’s back playing again. So we’ve at least spoken while in the same country!
My friends, if there is a goal something you’re aiming for, don’t let adversity stop you. Take the bad with the good, and do all you can to move forward with the energy you have. While recovering from Covid, energy is lower so rest is a very worthwhile use of time.
I will let you know how the Cats went against Machine tomorrow.
Peace and many blessings my friends.
Hamish, my heart goes out to you. I pray for a complete, fast recovery. This has to be devastating for you but your attitude is inspirational. 🙏
